Maggy is acting a bit strange. She's standing in front of Headmaster Tom wearing a peaked cap that is pulled down covering her face. When he tells her wearing a hat in the house is bad manners, and asks therefore, will she please remove it? Very slowly - very reluctantly she obeys him. Now he knows why she was intent on hiding her face. She'd spent her pocket money on makeup. Ordering her to her room, he is going to teach her a very hurtful lesson - breaking one of the rules here is never a good idea.
